Sarah Ball
Summer 2011
Last night of the deck at CBTG's
This woman, Sarah Ball is one of my oldest friends. We went to kindergarden together and she is awesome.
And came to visit me out here, which is AWESOME.
We gotta hang out more often, lady!
Here she is on CBC Radio Three with Grant Lawrence...... LISTEN.
She's been bazzin' round the country, living the life that the most of you wish you had.
Inspired me greatly, this ol' friend o' mine.
We've come a long way since Morris Academy!
Love you, Sarah!

Perspective
Perspective.
This day last year was a terrible day.
Utterly horrible and cruel.
I felt many a negative thing and felt there was or could be no escape
from the negativity.
Today I am free, loved, supported, and confident in my capabilities.
I have new goals and new perspectives and I fly on laughter-silvered wing.
I am sitting in my humble little cabin by the water
with my beautiful cat, delicious food,
and a warm heart from a visit from an old-time friend.
Troubles and troubled people from my past no longer affect me
in the old ways and truly in my indifference I find peace
and in setting boundaries I maintain this peace.
I look forward to the lessons life has yet to teach me.

The Wolf and the Crane
A wolf devoured his prey so ravenously that a bone got stuck in his throat, and in extreme agony, he ran and howled throughout the forest, beseeching every animal he met to pull out the bone. He even offered a generous reward to anyone who succeeded in pulling it out. Moved by his pleas as well as the prospect of the reward, a crane ventured her long neck down the wolf's throat and drew out the bone. She then modestly asked for the promised reward, but the wolf just grinned and bared his teeth.
"Ungrateful creature!" he replied with seeming indignation. "How dare you ask for any other reward than your life? After all, you're among the very few who can say that you've put your head into the jaws of a wolf and were permitted to draw it out in safety."
Expect no reward when you serve the wicked, and be thankful if you escape injury for your pains.
- Thanks for the reminder, Dan!
